FAQ
Short answers to the questions people ask before and after installing Globatics.
Accuracy
Why don’t my numbers match Google Analytics?
They measure different things. GA4 needs consent in the EU and models the visitors who refuse; Globatics counts cookieless visits with a daily salt. Bot filtering, ad blockers and session definitions differ too. Run both for a couple of weeks and compare trends rather than totals.
Do ad blockers block Globatics?
Some block third-party analytics hosts. Serving the script and the collect endpoint from your own domain fixes most of it: see Proxying.
Is anything sampled?
Reports are not sampled. Under very heavy live traffic the globe may animate one event in N and says so on screen, but counts are always exact. Long replays can be thinned to stay fast, and are labelled when they are.
Privacy
Do I need a cookie banner?
Globatics sets no cookies and stores nothing in the browser by default, and it is designed for consent-exempt audience measurement. Whether your site needs a banner depends on your country and on what else you run, so check with your regulator’s guidance or your lawyer. See Data fields and privacy.
Can visitors opt out?
Global Privacy Control turns off persistence and identify, and Do Not Track can stop tracking entirely with data-respect-dnt. You can offer an opt-out link that calls globatics('optout').
Product
What does it cost?
Self-hosting is free, with every feature. Cloud, the same product hosted for you, is free while it is in beta; paid plans come later, with prices published before anyone pays. See Pricing.
Can I import my history from another tool?
Not yet. Run Globatics alongside your current tool while you switch; the history builds up from the day you install it.
Does it work without an AI key?
Yes. Insights, explanations, the live narrator and Ask all have a built-in engine that runs on your server. An Anthropic API key makes Ask answer more kinds of questions and in any language.
