Globatics vs PostHog

PostHog is a broad, open-source product suite: analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys and a data warehouse, with a generous free tier and a hosted MCP server. Its web analytics Live tab is in alpha: a feed of the last few minutes that can be sampled on high-volume sites. Globatics is narrower and live first: a globe you can follow and replay, a tiny cookieless script and one self-hosted app with one SQLite file.

Choose PostHog if

  • You need feature flags, experiments, surveys and session replay in the same tool.
  • You want a data warehouse with SQL over events and external sources.
  • You want a large free cloud tier and a big ecosystem.

Choose Globatics if

  • Live is the product, not an alpha tab: follow, filter and replay on a globe.
  • One small cookieless script instead of a full product SDK.
  • One meter-free self-hosted app: no separate prices for identified events or AI credits.

Switching from PostHog

  • posthog.capture('signup', props) maps to globatics('event', 'signup', props).
  • posthog.identify(id, props) maps to globatics('identify', id, traits).
  • Keep PostHog for flags and experiments; Globatics can run alongside on the same pages.
