Web analytics tools with an MCP server (2026)
In short (1 November 2026): we found 7 web analytics tools with a vendor-maintained MCP server. Choose by three things: where the server runs, whether an agent can write, and what you pay to start. Plausible's MCP server is community-built, not official.
By Adrien Pennetier, maker of Globatics, listed last. This page is not an independent review. Facts read on each vendor's own docs or repository on 1 November 2026.
Do you need a vendor MCP server at all?
Not always. If your tool has an API, a community server may already exist. Plausible's docs mention one "built by the Sentry team", and add: "This is a community-built tool, not an official Plausible integration." Community servers for Umami exist as well. They can work well, but the vendor doesn't maintain them, so read the code and check what the API key can do.
Which one fits your situation?
Checked 1 November 2026. Prices in the vendor's currency.
| Your situation | Look at | Why | Check first |
|---|---|---|---|
| You want to start at $0 | Clamp, PostHog | Clamp's free tier is "$0" up to 100,000 events. PostHog says connecting is free | PostHog may bill some AI-powered tools |
| The agent must never change anything | Globatics, or read-only settings elsewhere | Globatics is read-only. DataFast selects read permissions by default | Review scopes on any other tool |
| The agent should manage goals or funnels | DataFast, Clamp, PostHog | They document write access | Clamp's pages disagree, see below |
| You already use GA4 | Google Analytics MCP | Official repository | Marked experimental, runs locally |
| You run Matomo | Matomo MCP Server | Included with Cloud, plugin for On-Premise | Set the privilege limit first |
| You want session recordings | Microsoft Clarity, PostHog | Clarity has list-session-recordings | Clarity's export API has tight limits |
| Your client can't do OAuth | Tools with token auth | Globatics, DataFast and Matomo accept tokens | Keep keys out of version control |
| One question a month | None | A CSV export is enough | Try that first |
How do they compare?
Read 1 November 2026.
| Tool | Where it runs, and auth | Write access | Cost to start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clamp | Remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 | Docs and pricing disagree | Free tier, then Pro $19/month |
| DataFast | Remote, datafa.st/api/mcp, OAuth or token | Optional, read selected by default | Starter $9/month, 14-day trial |
| Google Analytics | Local, Python with pipx, Google credentials | Off unless --allow-write | No fee stated in the repository |
| Matomo | Your Matomo instance, token or OAuth 2.0 | Set by a privilege level | Plugin price not stated |
| Microsoft Clarity | Local via npx, Clarity API token | Not documented | Price not checked |
| PostHog | Remote, mcp.posthog.com/mcp | Read and write | Free to connect |
| Globatics (ours) | Remote, globatics.live/api/mcp, API key | None, read-only | €29/month excl. VAT on Pro, after a 5-day trial with no card |
What is the catch with each tool?
Clamp. Its MCP docs say the server is read-only by default and that write actions are on Pro. Its pricing page lists "Full MCP read & write access" on the free tier.
DataFast. You need an account "with API access", and your plan still applies. OAuth write tools ask for confirmation. Its cookieless script is an option you enable from the dashboard.
Google Analytics. The project title says "Experimental". You set up Python and Application Default Credentials yourself.
Matomo. The default is "no privilege limit", so set the maximum privilege level before you connect an agent. Check whether your version supports token access levels: they arrived in Matomo 6.
Microsoft Clarity. The server sits on Clarity's data, and its Data Export API allows 10 requests per project per day, covers the last 1 to 3 days and returns 1,000 rows at most. Check how this affects the tools you use.
PostHog. It is broad: web and product analytics, and your agent "can read and write across PostHog's products". That is more power than a simple traffic question needs, so review permissions.
Globatics, the tool we make
Limits first: the MCP server needs Pro or Business. There is no free plan. It uses an API key rather than OAuth, so Claude Desktop goes through the mcp-remote bridge. It has no self-hosting, and history starts on the day you install.
What it does: 9 typed tools, such as get_overview, explain_change and get_ai_traffic. Your client brings its own model and "gets numbers back, never raw SQL." Globatics "runs no language model and sends your data to none." The 5-day trial includes every feature, on one site, with no card. MCP docs.
Where do the sources disagree?
| Topic | One source says | Another says | What you can do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clamp write access | Docs: write actions on Pro | Pricing: free tier has read and write | Test it, or ask Clamp |
| Clarity tool name | Readme lists three tools | The same readme's token setup names get-clarity-data | Run the server's tool list |
Who should use none of these?
If you read your numbers once a month, an export does the job. If your data is sensitive, an agent with a broad key is a new risk: use read-only access, or skip it.
Questions people ask
Does Plausible have an MCP server? Its docs mention a community-built server by the Sentry team and say it is not an official integration.
Does Google Analytics have an MCP server? Yes, an official repository marked experimental.
Is a read-only MCP server safer? It removes one risk: the agent can't change your setup. It can still read everything the key can see.
Can I use these with Claude? All the ones listed work with MCP clients. Setup differs, so read each vendor's guide.
How this list was built
Rule: a web analytics product whose maker documents an MCP server on its own site or official repository, readable on 1 November 2026. Community servers are out. Our searches found nothing official for Fathom, Simple Analytics, Rybbit or Umami, but we did not check every vendor's docs, so absence here isn't proof. Order: alphabetical, our product last. We read the docs and did not test the servers. Found an error? Write through the contact details on our legal notice page. Vendors can ask for a correction or reply. Changelog: 1 November 2026, first version.
